Using Drum Speed Control & Replay Assist

Overview
This article introduces the setup for Cropster's Drum speed control and Replay Assist feature. Cropster's Drum speed control allows you to regulate the drum speed directly within Roasting Intelligence.
Instructions
Setting up the Drum speed control measurement
⚠️ Essential Prerequisites:
- Before you begin configuring your roast machine, ensure that you have added it via the online platform C-sar.
- If the Drum speed control is not shown in the Preferences in Roasting Intelligence, it must be added before it can be set up.
- Always check your roast machine setup manual first for the correct Roasting Intelligence version and configuration steps.
- Log in to Roasting Intelligence.

Preferences > Machine > Configurations tab. - To choose the Roast machine, click on the dropdown menu in the Machine section.
- Click + Add connector and select the relevant option from the dropdown list.

Click Select to add the connector.
- Navigate to the Machine > Slider controls tab. To activate the Slider controls, click the green toggle button.
- Scroll down to the Drum speed control and select the connector option representing your machine.

Click Save to finalize the changes.

Restart Roasting Intelligence. If the setup was successful, you will see the Drum speed Slider control temperature values displayed on the right-hand side of the screen.
Roasting with Drum speed control
- Start your roast as you usually would with Roasting Intelligence.

Instead of using your roast machine's physical control board, you can easily adjust the drum speed using the Slider control on the right side of the Roasting Intelligence screen:
- For small drum speed adjustments, use the - and + buttons.
- For big adjustments, use the Control bar by dragging and dropping the slider.
- For instant adjustments, click the percentage values shown on the Drum Speed Control bar to instantly adjust the drum speed value accordingly.
- Input values directly and receive immediate feedback as you adjust the Slider controls.

Detach the Slider controls by clicking on the
Detach sidebar button.
Replaying a roast
After you've created a Reference roast using Drum speed control, you can use the Replay Assist feature. Roasting Intelligence will automatically adjust the drum speed based on your Bean temperature to match the original roast.
⚠️ Never leave the roast machine unattended while replaying a roast. Cropster replays the roast and captures the details, but you are always responsible for monitoring the roast machine to ensure it is operating safely.
