How to fix the 'Unknown Grouphead' error
Table of Contents
The issue
The Brews table shows an ‘unknown' grouphead.
The solution
This indicates that data is being received from an unexpected grouphead.
- First, turn off the espresso machine and disconnect it from the power source.
- Log in to the online platform C-sar.
- Navigate to Cafe > Telemetry.
-
(In case you have more espresso machines) Select the espresso machine to determine grouphead quantity:

- Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the Groupheads section.
-
The connected grouphead count will be shown in a table format.
- Confirm that the displayed number of groupheads matches the physical number present on your espresso machine.
- Check the BrewBeacon wiring while referring to the BrewBeacon installation instructions. The sensor and flow meter cables for each group must connect to the corresponding numbered input (e.g., Group 1 cables to Input Group 1) on the BrewBeacon.
-
Make any necessary wiring changes.
Rewiring the machine does not affect your Cropster Cafe account connection. Just turn the power on and continue tracking brews.
